The news of Peugeot 208 GTi being produced for a Spring 2013 launch kinda obscured the 208 XY. Yes, Peugeot is making this one as well. The XY is nothing like the GTi though. Where the GTi gets a sporty 200bhp 1.6 turbo engine, the basic XY has a 1.6 liter e-HDi diesel with 92 hp. The other options include a 1.6 liter THP with either 120 or 155 horsepower.

Peugeot 208 y is more about the looks and extra garnish. You can notice designer touches everywhere on this car, from the chromed mirror caps, to the fancy front grille, fog lamp and windows surrounds, the unique color, and the especially decorated roof which is something Peugeot has borrowed from Citroen.A set of posh 17-inch wheels complete the looks of the XY.

The interior is no less lavish with a dashboard finished in the same color as the body, leather and Alcantara seats with contrasting stitching, designer floor mats and aluminum pedals. As for the equipments, you get some high-end stuff like a panoramic glass roof, automatic parking system and a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation.

The 208 has one of the coolest interior designs among all hatchbacks available in the market today. Pricing for the XY is yet to be announced.
