Renault Twizy is a futuristic looking, sort of, electric urban commuter. It’s not a car as such, which means you are not well protected in it they way you would be in a real car. That can be really annoying in winter. So before the cold season hit UK, Renault announced launch of a winter-proof accessory which the car puts on like a coat.
It’s a £295 kit you can buy fro, Renault dealers, and said to keep most of the cold weather out of the cabin. The system includes two main parts; a rigid metal frame which attaches to the door and a flexible, transparent ‘window’ which fastens to the frame by means of a zip. It really is a coat.
People who bought the Twizy have compromised on style and their own dignity to drive some green around the town and be nice to the environment. It wasn’t fair for them to be cold too. Renault actually should have thrown this thing in for free.
