With all the hype surrounding Opel Adam mini car, we were expecting it to be a flawless rival for the MINI, Fiat 500 and other big players in the small car segment. After all, Opel had all the time in the world to study those cars and come up with something to beat them. But based on what Autocar’s Vicky Parrot says in this review, the Adam falls short of expectations.
It is hard to see why Opel has put so much effort into making the Adam so chintzy and style-obsessed. Those fancy graphics and Jam, Glam, Slam naming policy only really appeals to teenage girls. Real customers who are going to spend at least £11K on a city runabout will have a look around and quickly realize they will get much better value with a Fiat 500.
