Lexus has already confirmed that the new generation IS sedan will be unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. So it’s about time for them to start the teasing campaign, and they break out the big guns right off the bat. When Jay Leno was in Japan a few months ago they gave him an exclusive early look at the car. And he filmed it, so we can have a look too.

Even though the car is camouflaged in this footage you get some ideas about the way it looks. Jay also reveals some facts about it, like how the wheelbase is longer than the old Lexus IS, or the fact that it gets the 8-speed gearbox from the old IS-F as standard.

What we found interesting in this video was the noise this IS makes. Lexus used to be famous for completely deleting the engine noise, but now it’s the other way around. They have actually tweaked the exhaust so it makes a nice rumble to make driving more fun. Kudos.
