DRIVE channel’s Koenigsegg documentary continues with a new episode focusing on the Agera R Hyper car’s engine. This 5 liter V8 unit is a bespoke engine designed and developed for Koenigsegg, and it’s been with the company, in one form or another, since the first CCX came along. In the Agera R it makes 1140 horsepower.
In this video Christian Von Koenigsegg explains some of the most remarkable highlights of this powertrain, such as the bespoke ECU, flex-fuel capability, and the clever packaging that makes the engine part of the chassis.
The Swedish super car maker believes in evolution, so 1140 hp is not the end of the way for this engine. It is being constantly updated with new technologies to become more powerful and greener.
