Mazda’s current lineup does not include a coupe model. They have the MX-5 Roadster which has a variant with folding hard-top, and that’s it. Now though, with the introduction of the KODO-derived Mazda3, maybe it’s time to consider the addition of a sporty little coupe to the range.

In fact, auto designer Theophilus Chin went ahead and rendered such a thing already. And we have to say it looks rather brilliant. Yes, it’s just a Mazda3 sedan with two doors instead of four. But the shortened wheelbase and the profile of the car looks so nice and chiseled – as a proper coupe should.

If you think about it, a Mazda3 Coupe could be a hit. We all know that Mazda is capable of engineering a great level of fun and thrill into their cars. Now, that magic in a sports coupe sounds like a winning recipe. It could give Toyota GT86 a run for its money. We hope Mazda really consider this.
