Giving its popular Megane model a little more exclusivity, Renault launched the Knight Limited Edition in the UK. It may have a silly name, but this Megane comes with a host of visual features and extra equipment, all for 350 quid more than the Expression+ trim on which it is based.

On the outside, it gets a GT style body kit that Renault, going with the whole knight theme, calls body armour, including GT bumpers, dark chrome rear diffuser, dark chrome exterior detail styling, as well as dark chrome wheels in 16-icnh size, and tinted windows.  The car also gets power folding mirrors and parking sensors; two seemingly primitive features that make a big difference in day to day driving.

The best thing about the Knight treatment is that it can be had in Hatch, Coupé and Sport Tourer forms, a choice of two engines, and a range of colors including Glacier White as standard, but is also available in Ruby Red, Malta Blue and Arctic White, Diamond Black metallic paints. So you are not limited to one body style or color, as is usually the case with limited edition models.

Available engines include a 1.6 16V petrol or a dCi 110 Stop & Start diesel, the latter capable of 80.7mpg and 90 g/km CO2. As for the pricing, the Hatch start at £17,095, the Coupé at £17,595, and the Sport Tourer at £17,895.
