Continuing their fruitful relationship with Red Bull Racing on and off the race track, Renault announces a new version of the limited edition Megane RS Red Bull RB8. With a limited production run of only 30 units for the UK, the RB8 is heavily influenced by Red Bull’s Twilight Blue Formula 1 car.
The special paint finish is garnished with Platinum Grey detailing on the F1 blade, door handles, door mirror housing and rear lip spoiler, and Red Bull Racing graphics at the rear and on the sides, to look more like the F1 car, while a host of new features set it further apart from normal models.
The RB8 comes with exclusive features not seen on other Megane RS models, including Recaro seats, R-Link Multimedia system and TomTom Live navigation system, Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tyres, plus the latest on-board Renaultsport Monitor v2.0. 19-inch gloss black ‘Steev’ alloy wheels with platinum coloured rims are another highlight of this special model.
Performance-wise, the car is the same as the other Megane RS 265 models, meaning that it is powered by a 265 horsepower 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, and features spot suspension, Brembo brakes, and a limited slip differential.
The 265 setup offers one of the greatest drives in the hot hatch segment. And now thanks to the new features, the car is also special and nice to look at. The only problem as far as we can work out is the price of the RB8, which starts at £28,245.
