With the surging demand for Ford F-Series and the arrival of the new 2014 Toyota Tundra, General Motors feels a bit left behind in the pickup truck market. They decided to reinforce their lineup with two new models, the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon.
What sets GM’s new offerings aside is the fact they are designed to be capable, versatile and fuel-efficient alternatives to full-size pickups. The Colorado is already on sale on other parts of the world. Now it’s being added to the American lineup to provide customers with a greater variety.
Colorado and Canyon will join the all-new 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500s, and the upcoming Silverado and Sierra HDs, in 2014. Production will get underway next year at GM’s Wentzville, Mo., assembly center. Technical specs and pricing of the new models will be announced later.
