Honda CRV is one of the cars the Japanese manufacturer makes locally in UK, and so is new 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine. So the combination of these two is something the Brits can properly proud of. For the privilege of driving one, though, they need to shell out at least £22,800.
That is the starting price of the Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC in the UK, which comes as standard with DAB Radio, dual zone climate control air conditioning, cruise control, electric adjustable and heated door mirrors, USB connectivity, steering wheel remote audio controls, 5-inch Intelligent Multi Info Display (i-MID), 17” alloy wheels as well as all the driver safety aids such as ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), driver seat power lumber support and Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA).
That is a long list of features but there is still a few more, better-equipped trim levels above it. The highlight of this model is not the features though, but rather that powertrain. It is a 1.6 diesel, so all you need to know about the performance is that it’s not good (120 PS, 300 Nm). Such engine is all about economy, and that’s what it excels at.
Fuel economy on the combined cycle is 62.8 mpg, which means the Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC can cover a distance of up to 800 miles on one tank of fuel, emitting no more than 119g/km of CO2 along the way. This qualifies the car for £0 road tax for the first year and as low as £30 annual road tax thereafter.
