The second Chevy Silverado concept car for this year’s SEMA show, and the cooler one compared to the Firefighter model is this, the Black Ops version. It is based on the Silverado Crew Cab 4×4, and its list of equipment include lower body armor and a lockable, bed-mounted Truck Vault storage unit, solar power pack, a pair of gas masks, gloves, military First Aid Kit, folding shovel and rope!
What’s more, a generator, fuel can and water can are mounted atop the storage unit. All these features make it suitable for operation behind enemy lines, which is the specialty of Black Ops agents. It is a bit conspicuous though. You do get noticed a lot in a car this cool looking.
Chevrolet Silverado Black Ops is powered by the standard EcoTec3 5.3L engine with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. It has all the bells and whistles of the normal models, including a six-speed auto ‘box, revised front and rear suspensions and wider wheels that enhance the ride and handling, duralife brakes, electric steering, and StabiliTrack system.
Visually, the truck is distinguished by its mean black paint work, a bright, light-emitting diode, or LED, spot light and integrated tow hooks, and 18-inch wheels. Inside, custom-trimmed black seats with yellow piping are complemented by additional yellow trim throughout the cabin. It even gets Chevy’s MyLink infotainment system.
