Magnum Cars announced they have come up with a new sports car called the MK5, which will steal the show from the likes of Ariel Atom and BAC Mono. It is a two-seater with no roof and door; it is incredibly light, and fairly powerful. The result is a fabulously quick machine.

Measuring 3.9 meters long and 1.8 meters wide, Magnum MK5 boasts a four-cylinder engine mounted in the middle, producing 250 horsepower. That is good power in a car that weighs only 545 kilograms. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and because of its aerodynamic properties it can only reach a top speed of 240 km/h.

The lightweight body and chassis are connected via adjustable pushrod suspension and anti-roll bars and 18-inch ultra-light wheels.  The car uses ventilated brake discs and powerful calipers. Inside, the steering wheel and seats are covered in same sort of water-resistant material that BAC Mono uses; the same they also use in old people’s house.

Magnum MK5 will be limited to only 20 units a year, each priced at around $140K. That sounds expensive for what’s essentially a toy.
