Maserati Bora was one of the most sophisticated super cars of the Seventies. It didn’t have the flair or performance of a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, but even so, it attracted high-profile customers like the Shah of Iran and Sophia Loren. The Bora is now making a comeback… in the virtual world.
These are speculations of designer Alexander Imnadze on what a modern-day Maserati Bora would look like. He took the unique profile of the original super car and mixed it up with styling cues from Maser’s current range. You can see some GranTurismo here and some Quattroporte there. It is a truly amazing piece of design.
Sadly though, this Bora is just a flight of fancy. Maserati is not in a position nowadays to even think about making a super car. Maybe when they achieved their goal of selling 50,000 annually by 2015 the engineer would be allowed to ponder the possibility of launching a new Maserati super car. They have the talent and they have the resources.
The world needs a sophisticated, understated, and dignified super car like the Bora. Please Maserati, make it happen!
