January is usually the month with the greatest number of new car launches, and so it begins in the UK with the new Peugeot 308. First things first, the price. The new 308 comes in four trim levels – Access (from £14,495), Active (from £17,195), Allure (from £18,645) and Feline (from £20,995).
The car also comes with a range of frugal engines, offering fuel consumption as good as 91.1mpg with CO2 emissions as low as 82g/km. Built on the innovative Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2), the new Peugeot 308 is 140 kg lighter than its predecessor, and 140 percent better looking.
The premium looks on the outside is complemented with a premium interior, featuring what Peugeot calls ‘i-Cockpit’ which means it is tailored around the driver. The 308 also boasts one of the most technically advanced touch-screen infotainment systems on any new car. With a large 9.7-inch screen size, this intuitive interface allows the user to control everything from the climate control to the audio system.
Being a family hatchback, the new Peugeot 308 has to practical. And with a 420-litre boot, it certainly is. Needless to say, you can increase the volume by folding the rear seats. What’s more, passengers in the 308 benefit from generous-sized cup holders and storage spaces located around the cabin.
