Opel/Vauxhall confirmed the launch of a production version of the Adam Rocks at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The car was first revealed as a concept at Geneva 2013, and in the year it took it to become a production car, the Rocks does not appear to have lost any of its mojo.

Adam Rocks is sort of the ultimate expression of what this city car can be. You can’t call it a crossover; it’s way too small for that. But compared to the standard car, the Rocks features 15mm higher ride height, tougher suspension and steering systems, a choice of 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels, and of course, the SUV-like styling elements on the body.

The highlights of the styling include the anthracite-coloured cladding that wraps around the car, sating chrome accents, and a full-length electric folding canvas roof available in Black, Sweet Coffee or Light Oak. Inside, the dominating color is Peanut fabric/Morrocana for the seats and door panels, and you get leather steering wheel, gearshift and handbrake in the same colour, and a “Surf” décor trim.

The vibrant little Adam Rocks also marks the debut of a new 1.0 liter three-cylinder engine Opel has made to keep up with the game with the rivals. The ECOTEC Direct Injection engine comes in two 90PS and 115 PS versions, and delivers 155 Nm of torque. You can also order the Rocks with a 1.2-litre engine with 70PS and a 1.4-litre available in two power outputs, 87PS and 100PS.

The Adam on the Rocks also gets an optional infotainment system with smartphone integration, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, audio streaming, a seven-inch high-definition colour touch-screen and seven speakers.
