Thanks to Mercedes and the wagon variant of their CLS-Class, Shooting Brake body style is one of the hottest trends in the auto world these days. So, with that in mind, auto designers and image manipulators tend to create a Shooting Brake version of virtually anything, regardless of its shape and function.
The latest car to be given this (virtual) treatment is the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe. On paper, this shouldn’t work. The F-Type Coupe is a heart-stoppingly beautiful thing, and you would think that adding a big rear hatch and space for a dog would ruin its lustrous lines and curves.
Well, judging by what we’re seeing here, that is not the case. Jaguar F-Type Shooting Brake looks brilliant; kind of like a Ferrari FF that is actually good-looking. What’s more, every ounce of added practicality is a blessed relief in a coupe or a convertible, as it makes the car more usable, which means you can enjoy it more often.
This Jaguar F-Type Shooting Brake is a design exercise – pure fantasy. Jaguar certainly has no plans to launch a SB version of the F-Type for now, but who knows. Jaguar has shown before that they are open to good ideas.
