The next-generation Hyundai Genesis Coupe is currently under development, and according to the latest reports and rumors that have made their way out of Korea, you can expect a lot of changes from the new model. One of these big changes is the demise of the 2.0 liter four-cylinder version.

Hyundai is reportedly dropping the four-cylinder turbo model, and since it is highly unlikely that they offer a V8 version, that means the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will only be available with a V6 engine. And it seems it’s the old 3.8 liter GDi V6, and not the new 3.3 liter turbo V6 we saw in the HND-9 Concept.

The 3.8 liter V6 will probably undergo some serious modifications for use in the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. It is good on power, punching 350 horses in its base, standard version. But it’s a big engine and guzzles fuel like there is no tomorrow. Hyundai is going to address that issue, especially for overseas markets.

As for other important details, the next Geni Coupe will boast a fancy design and a premium cabin. Hyundai, by the looks of things, is not going to play the GT86 game and release an entry-level sports car to take on the Toyota. If anything, it seems they are moving the Coupe further upmarket.
