The recently-revealed British super car Arash AF8 is currently undergoing final testing and validation before it can go on sale. They took the V8-powered exotica to the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold recently, where Shmee 150 was at hand to capture it in action.

Arash Cars started out building kit cars and modifying super cars like Ferraris. Gradually they turned into a full-fledged sports car maker and produced some very fine products like the AF10. They have been laying low for the past couple of years, but now Arash is back with this, the AF8, which follows the same old recipe of lightness and a big engine.

The engine powering Arash AF8 is an American 7.0 liter V8 from the old Corvette Z06, developing 550 horsepower and 640Nm of torque. Since the car weighs just over 1,200 kg, the AF8 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mpg in 3.5 seconds and tops 200+ mph.

Arash AF8 uses a carbon fiber and aluminium honeycomb chassis and carbon body panels. The precious material is also used to create the high-end intake system and the interior trimming. The gearbox is a good old six-speed manual.
