The new generation Subaru WRX marks the return of the STI version to the British market, where it can finally rule the sports sedan market without the shadow of Mitsubishi Evo constantly looming on the horizon. The specs suggest the 2015 Subaru WRX STI is a terrific driver’s car. To find out if that’s true, Evo Magazine went all the way to Sweden to try it out.
The guys found themselves a piece of road which resembled a private rally stage and after exchanging a few pleasantries with the car got down to business:
2015 Subaru WRX STI is powered by a new 305-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged BOXER engine, and, compared to its predecessor, benefits from stiffer chassis, firmer springs and faster steering. It also gets the usual ensemble of drivetrain goodies, including Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control, and a Brembo Performance Brake System with Super Sport ABS. Honestly, it would be a surprise if the car was anything but brilliant
