We are used to seeing real cars in the video games, but this must be the first time that a car from a video game is on sale in the real world. It is the Dodge Viper-based Bravado Banshee, designed to promote Grand Theft Auto III.
The car was built back then by West Coast Customs, which is the shop of choice for movie and game studios every time they need a unique car for promotion purposes. They took a 2006 Viper SRT-10 and basically redesigned every single body panel to make it look like Banshee.
In true West Coast Customs fashion, the interior is highly customized with leather, red embroidery, and a high-end audio system.
Bravado Banshee was given away as part of GTA’s promotional campaign. The woman who won the car is now selling it on eBay for $170,000, which is of course a lot of money, but then it’s a unique car and a true collectible. She is selling the car to put her kids through college. What’s more, if you ask WCC to make a car like this for you today, it’ll probably cost a lot more than that.
You have two days left before the auction closes on eBay.
