Hyundai is taking its sweet time over developing the next generation Genesis Coupe, and that makes the situation ripe for all sorts of rumors regarding the car’s technical specifications. Back in May we heard that they are going to ditch the four-cylinder variant, and now it is said the car is finally getting the V8 engine so many fans were asking for.
The new Hyundai Genesis Coupe V8, if approved, will get the firm’s 5.0 liter TAU V8 engine which enjoys a good reputation from years of powering the Genesis sedan. It’s a durable and powerful engine with smooth delivery and acceptable efficiency for a big V8. In the Genesis sedan, the V8 makes 420 horsepower. For the Coupe, they can go higher.
If you piece together all the information about the new-generation Hyundai Genesis Coupe, you arrive at a wonderful picture depicting a sexy looking coupe with a big V8 engine, rear-wheel-drive, 8-speed transmission, and much nicer interior than its predecessor. We know that design-wise, the Geni Coupe is going to be based on the magnificent HND-9 concept (pictured above).
There is a lot to already like about the new Genesis Coupe. But Hyundai needs to speed things up a bit.
