Jaguar is yet to unveil the normal version of the new XE sedan, but designers at Virtuel Car decided to jump ahead and envision what the car will look like in the sporty R format. What they’ve come up with is pretty impressive, but there is guarantee the real thing is going to look anything like it.
Jaguar XE R rendering is based on the latest spyshots and details announced by the company, combined with cues borrowed from other R-branded Jags. There is a recipe for these cars, which includes revised bumpers with large air intakes, sport grille, smoked lights, side skirts, rear diffuser and maybe a boot lid spoiler. Not to mention the program includes no less than four tailpipes to help the big engine breathe more easily.
Jaguar has so far confirmed the use of small-displacement, fuel efficient engines in the upcoming sports saloon. An R – or RS – version of the Jaguar XE should get a supercharged V8 with something like 500 horsepower. That said, there is a chance Jaguar follows the inevitable downsizing path to a V6. In any case, the car is going to be well covered in terms of power.
