Following the debut of the Atom 3.5R in the UK, Ariel Cars in collaboration with TMI AutoTech launches the Atom 3S in the United States. Just like its British counterpart, Ariel Atom 3S features a Honda engine, but here it gets 365 horsepower.
That makes the 3S the most powerful Ariel Atom since the V8 model. To try and harness that power and make it usable (it also has over 310 lb-ft of torque), They have fitted Ariel Atom 3S with beefier 4-piston caliper brakes, adjustable dampers, and an adjustable traction control system whose aggressiveness can be altered by the driver depending on how confident he or she is with their driving skills.
Ariel Atom 3S, which features carbon parts and red accents and comes with a windscreen, can be ordered with a new Sadev 6-speed sequential gearbox. This is for the hard-core track enthusiasts who want lightning fast change speed and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for convenience. You can also get a standard close-ratio unit.
The rest of the Atom 3S is as bare and wonderful as ever. You get a racing dashboard with unfathomable diagrams and digits all over it, two bucket seats with racing harness, and the ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in a mind-bending 2.8 seconds. And all that for around $90K.
