Jay Leno went to the Today Show recently to talk about his meeting with a number of veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He showed a clip in which he took Cpl. Laberge, gravely wounded in a suicide attack in Afghanistan, for a ride in the Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

After hanging out a bit and having some BBQ, Jay asks Laberge how he likes the car and then tosses him the keys and says it’s yours! It is very cool to watch:

Cpl. Laberge was on a patrol with his unit in Afghanistan when a suicide bomber drove up to their vehicle and detonated a sizable explosive device. The blast killed two servicemen and left Laberge with lifelong injuries. Jay gave the wounded veteran the car as a thank you for his sacrifice and as a symbolic gesture to show that America loves its soldiers and will never leave them behind or forget them. In the next Gooding auction Jay will auction off one of his classic cars and give the money to the wounded warriors charity.
