Independent designer X-Tomi decided to have another go at creating a virtual Mazda2 MPS, now that the car is more likely to be green lighted by the company’s top brass. The recipe is the same, but the execution and details are more refined in the new renderings.

The hotted-up Mazda2 MPS will come with a sporty and aggressive look thanks to a number of visual modifications, better brakes and suspension, revised interior and a more powerful engine. Details of the mechanical upgrades are unknown at the moment, but in terms of styling, X-Tomi has pretty much nailed it with these images.

The Mazda2 MPS previewed in this computer-generated images feature modified bumpers with matte black accents, darkened lights and exterior detailing, larger black wheels, lowered ride height, and dual exhaust. The blacked-out front grille and roof are also nice touches, but maybe a bit too unrealistic.

The MPS version of the new Mazda2 will probably get a tuned version of the petrol SkyActiv-G 1.5 liter engine and uprated SkyActiv body, chassis, and manual transmission. The tiny Mazda has always been a fun car to drive and giving it more power will only make things better. The previous generation even got a racing version and went on to develop a Motorsport career for itself.
