A few days before Christmas Ariel Motors revealed the first pictures and details of their new creation, the Nomad off-roader, promising to tell us more about it after the Holidays. True to their word they have released a ton of new pictures along with fresh details about this rather interesting vehicle. What’s more, we also have some driving footage of the Ariel Nomad.
But before all that, let’s quickly recap what makes Ariel Nomad tick. In essence, this car is an Ariel Atom fitted with long-travel suspension system and equipped with chunky off-road tires. Power comes from a 2.4 liter Honda engine developing 240 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed close-ratio gearbox.
Ariel Nomad is lightweight, weighing in at just 670 kg. That makes extremely quick, with a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h). And it can do that kind of speed everywhere; be it asphalt, gravel, or sand.
As big boys toys go, Ariel Nomad is an awesome one, especially as it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to buy. You can pick up a basic model for around £28,000. Of course if you want to spec it up, you can end up paying a lot more than that.
