It is not often that Peugeot releases a hot car, but when they do the end result is often pretty amazing. The latest hot-ish the French automaker has come up with is the Peugeot 308 GT which is available in Hatchback and SW body styles and with diesel and petrol engines.

Visually, and at first sight, Peugeot 308 GT may not strike you as a very sporty hatchback. But look closer and you notice the 18-inch wheels, the lowered ride height,  black lacquered door mirrors and rear diffuser, twin exhaust pipes, and the distinctive headlights with 62 LEDs in them. This model also comes with a new and exclusive color called Magnetic Blue.

In terms of performance, you can order the Peugeot 308 GT with either a 1.6-litre THP 205hp/285Nm Stop&Start petrol engine, or a 2.0-litre BlueHDi 180hp/400Nm diesel unit. The former does 130g/km and 50.4mpg whereas the latter is capable of 103g/km and 70.6mpg. The petrol does 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 secs and the diesel in 8.4 secs. They both come with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The 308 GT also benefits from the latest iteration of Peugeot i-Cockpit design which simplifies the cabin and makes use of sporty features such as a compact steering wheel and instruments illuminated with red display. The GT is blessed with a good amount of standard kit, comprising stuff like Dynamic Cruise Control, Emergency Collision Alert System, and Emergency Collision Braking System.
