Rumors are flying around about Ferrari quietly recalling all 499 units of the LaFerrari hybrid hyper car due to a flaw in their build that can result in a mild case of… well, fire! These reports are looking increasingly legit as more photographs emerge showing dismembered LaFerraris undergoing inspection and fix.
The first time Ferrari LaFerrari fire issue came to focus was almost a year ago when a red example was pictured with what appeared to be a half-burnt bumper. Now it seems all models have some sort of a problem that is considered fire hazard and is therefore serious enough to warrant a recall, albeit a quiet one. That said, this whole thing could be a case of precautionary check rather than a full-blown recall.
Still, people who have seen the recalled LaFerraris in garages all over the world are reporting there seems to be an issue with the fuel tank, or some of its ancillaries; an issue which has a very difficult fix due to the location of the tank deep within the bowels of the car. That is why the photographed cars, including Jay Kay’s Green LaFerrari, look like they have just crashed!
Don’t know about you, but we’d pretty pissed if we’d just taken delivery of out multi-million dollar hyper car, just to have it taken away for weeks because it’s badly made.
