Ever since we saw it at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, we have been giving the Porsche 991 GT3 RS a hard time for its plasticy bits. We still maintain those complaints, but we have to admit that as a package, this thing looks superb, especially in this hot Lava Orange color.

This is probably the first time a Porsche 991 GT3 RS is spotted in the wild in this color, and our proper look at the car in the real world. A while ago we saw the RS in one of its more unique Ultraviolet/Purple paint jobs, but those pictures didn’t really communicate many details about the styling.

Here in these up close photos though you get to see the exquisiteness of that sexy rear wing, the beauty of how they have integrated an air duct into the ducktail spoiler, and the tantalizingly wide hips of the car. Granted, you also get a good look of all the plastic parts, but hey, nobody and nothing’s perfect!

Porsche 991 GT3 RS, for those of you who don’t know your Porsches, is a more hard-core version of the GT3, itself a track-focused variant of the road-going 911. It comes with a 500 horsepower flat-six engine, a 7-speed PDK transmission, and some scaffolding in the back. Lighter weight and more aggressive chassis tuning makes the RS a more formidable track car than the regular GT3.
