Only a year has passed since Jaguar introduced the new F-Type sports car. But in that short period of time, by the standards of the auto industry at least, they have created a number of different versions of the car, including V6, V8, Coupe, Convertible, R Coupe, and Project 7. Time now for a Jaguar F-Type GT3 race car!

Actually, that last one is not on the cards yet. But judging by what we can see in this amazing rendering, and knowing Jaguar and their proud Motorsport heritage, it definitely should be. The GT3 category is where all the big boys play; cars that are the F-Type’s natural rivals, such as the Aston Martin Vantage, Ferrari 458, Porsche 911, and most recently Mercedes AMG GT.

This virtual Jaguar F-Type GT3 is a rendering, and a very good one at that, based on the coupe version. Automotive photographer James Gibson is the man who’s come up with it, and he’s done a great job adding a proper aero kit to the Jag, complete with front splitter, canards, big rear wing, and, one would assume, side aero blades and a sizable rear diffuser.

A real Jaguar F-Type GT3 should look very similar to this and boast a modified version of the firm’s 5.0 liter V8 engine. We would love to see this racing F-Type on the GT3 grid next year – even at the very back, only as an eye candy!
