Having achieved fairly good results with their special edition pickup trucks, GM’s marketing team has now shifted attention to their sedan models. The 2016 Chevrolet Impala Midnight Edition is the latest ‘special’ model designed increase the appeal of the full-size sedan by adding a number of exclusive design features.
Chevrolet Impala Midnight Edition is based on a SEMA concept now available as an optional package for the 1LT, 2LT and LTZ trim levels. It costs from $995 to $1,595, depending on the model, and offers some mostly dark features that give the car more attitude and style.
The ingredients of the Midnight package include Jet Black exterior, including body color mirrors; 19-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels with black accents; black grille and surround; front and rear black Chevrolet bowtie; Jet Black interior; sport pedals; and black rear spoiler.
Chevrolet Impala Midnight Edition is based on the 2016 modelyear and comes with two engines; a 2.5L iVLC with stop/start technology and a 3.6L V-6. Before that though, Chevy will produce a small number of 2015 2LT models with the standard 2.5L engine.
