Rendering artists with a passion for car spend most of their time adding virtual doors to existing models, or taking bits off of them, such as the roof. But every once in a while they come up with a truly visionary idea that make you gasp in astonishment.
This purely fantastical Jaguar XJ, or C-XJ as designer Theophilus Chin calls it, definitely qualifies as one such thing. Theo has used an obscure concept by Guiogiaro to pen this beauty, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is that this is what the XJ should look like and not the rubbish currently presented to us.
Granted, the front-end looks way F-Type-like, but just imagine an XF sort of face with the rest of what you see here. Enticing, isn’t it? Theo’s Jaguar XJ features a beautiful swooping roof line that gives the whole thing the appearance of a four-door coupe, and it has one of the coolest rear-end designs we have ever seen.
Jaguar, under Ian Callum, has got many things right in recent years, but the XJ certainly isn’t one of them. Well, everybody is entitled to one slip-up every now and again. But now that they have been shown what the next Jaguar XJ should look like, they have no excuses.
