It seems that after decades of catering only to the Japanese domestic market, eccentric car maker Mitsuoka is finally ready to expand their horizon a bit. They will do this by launching the Mitsuoka Roadster in the British market where it’s pitched as a “modern day classic sports car.”
To be offered by T W White & Sons, Mitsuoka Roadster is like a modern interpretation of the British sports car; a retro design mixed with up to fate underpinnings combined with effortless performance wrapped in a high-quality, reliable package. It reminds us of the German Wiessman which came about a few years ago and then disappeared as the company went bust. Hopefully things will work out better for Mitsu. After all, they will always have the JDM to support themselves with.
As for the specs, the rear-wheel-drive Misuoka Roadster is powered by a 2.0 litre engine available with either a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox or a 6 speed automatic Powershift gearbox. The car boasts a folding hardtop that can lowered electronically in an incredibly quick 12 seconds. There is no shortage of luxury amenities either, what with heated leather seats and auto climate control. You also get ABS, EBD, traction control, stability control, and a few airbags.
Prices for the Mitsuoka Roadster in the British market start from £53,800 on the road. Metallic or Pearlescent paint is an additional £620.
