This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will see the debut of the debut of a new Singer Porsche 911 Targa model. As with other Singer models, this is a customer car that will make a guest appearance at a major event before being delivered to its lucky owner.

Singer has no interest in making show cars and concepts. Their cars – the reimagined 911 – are bespoke works of arts that take a long time and a whole lot of money to build. So even cars they take to places like Jay Leno’s Garage are actual customer cars built to the owner’s desired specs.

Now, most Singer 911s end up in Dubai or Saudi Arabia. This Targa model though is ordered by a gentleman from Montreal who wanted an open-top model. So Singer designer took the 964 base car to the drawing board and came up with a foldable carbon fiber roof for it. We will see the roof in action at Goodwood FoS.

Apart from the roof, the Singer Porsche 911 Targa is a familiar car, boasting bespoke carbon fiber panels, exquisite grilles and lights, custom interior with special dials, Fuchs alloys, and a Cosworth-tuned flat-six engine with 390 horsepower. As for the pricing, well, normal non-Targa models are in the neighborhood of 300 grand. So go figure!
