This year McLaren took the Goodwood Festival of Speed by storm, bringing the largest and most fascinating lineup ever to the show. In this gallery we take a closer look at the biggest highlights of McLaren Automotive at the 2015 GFoS.
As we’ve already reported in separate posts, McLaren’s 2015 Goodwood lineup included a couple of very special hyper cars. First we have the one-off McLaren P1 Prost edition, designed by the company’s crack team of special operators at MSO to celebrate the legendary French F1 champion of the yesteryear. The second hyper machine is a super unique longtail McLaren F1 GT of which there is only three units in the world. It is a road-going version of the longtail F1 GTR race cars.
The more “ordinary” McLarens on display at Goodwood this year include the 650S Le Mans and the magnificent 675 LongTail, and of course the new baby Mac, the 570S. They were joined on static display by the firm’s current racing machines including the 650 GT3 and the P1 GTR. The latter is not a race car as such as it does not qualify for any official racing series. It’s just a very expensive track toy for a small number of clients.
Other highlights include guest appearances by a few privately-owned McLaren F1s, 650S Police car and McLaren F1’s pride and joy Mr. Jenson Button.
