Lexus IS Sportwagon Looks Weird But Makes Sense

Nope, this is not a new wagon version of the IS sedan launched by Lexus. What it is, is a pretty damn rendering of what this Lexus IS Sportwagon might look like if the Japanese company ever builds one. It does take a bit of time to come to terms with the way this thing looks, but after that you’ll be thinking why haven’t they already built this?

The standard IS sedan, as we know, is a peculiar thing, like most other contemporary Lexus products. When we first saw that car it struck us as utterly hideous and a total waste of space. But then we saw the car in the flesh and we couldn’t help but admire the boldness of the thing. It didn’t look like anything else on the road, and for that reason alone it was cool.

With the Lexus IS Sportwagon you would get the same sort of styling cues that make the sedan so unique. There is that large and ungainly spindle grille that gives the car the look of an exotic fish, and those inexplicably weird headlights. The only difference here is that the car now gets a big bottom to boot as well. That means more practicality, and also a more strange shape.

At the end of the day, Lexus IS is a family car and every family car should come in wagon body stye as well. There used to be a time when station wagons were the dreariest, most mind-numbing class of vehicles. These days though, things have changes for the better and something like this IS Sportwagon can fit in just so.
