As you know there are currently two versions of the McLaren P1 one can obtain. There is the normal, road-legal P1 hyper car, and there is the track-only P1 GTR. But that’s apparently not enough for some people. Here’s the first McLaren P1 GTR converted for street use by its Chilean owner.
Apparently this dude was not happy with the choices he had for road and track use with the P1 and wanted things on his own term. So he put an order for a McLaren P1 GTR, which at around $3 million is not what you call cheap, and then before taking it out of England had it converted so he can drive it on public roads as well.
We have already told you about British firms specializing in converting high-end track car to road-legal cars. They charge stratospheric prices for their services, but when it comes to their ego, nothing is too expensive for some people, even if it’s completely pointless and unnecessary. I mean there is already a bloody P1 you can drive on the road!
At any rate, there is no denying that the outcome of this effort is something utterly unique and infinitely interesting. Besides the cool racing paraphernalia that comes with the McLaren P1 GTR, this road legal version also rocks a baby blue paint job instead of a racing livery which makes it even more exclusive. The looks are backed by a 1,000 horsepower hybrid powertrain.
