McLaren Automotive is ending 2015 on a high note. Yesterday they revealed what they think is the future of Formula One cars, and now they unveil the long-rumored drop-top version of the 675. Whichever way you take it, McLaren 675LT Spider is the most magnificent production car they have ever released.

What McLaren 675LT Spider is, is an all-in-one package with everything that is good about McLaren products wrapped in one incredibly desirable package. It is a LongTail 675 which means it has the big dog 670 PS engine and all those awesome LT aero parts, and it’s a Spider which means it comes with a folding hardtop.

The car has superb performance, unrivaled sexiness, and brilliant functionality. Just about the only bad thing about it, besides limited production of just 500 units globally, is the price tag which reads £285,450. Not that it matters really, because we reckon most of those 500 units are already pre-ordered.

So packing 675PS and 700Nm and a dry weight of 1,270kg, McLaren 675LT Spider is capable of mind-bending performance. Sprinting from 0-100kmh (0-62mph) takes just 2.9 seconds, and 200kmh (124mph) is achieved in 8.1 seconds. The top speed of 326km/h (203mph) makes the average fuel consumption of 24 mpg look all the more impressive.

The differences between the Spider and the Coupe are limited to the 10-spoke Ultra-Lightweight forged alloy wheels – 19-inch at the front, 20-inch at the rear – and the ‘By McLaren’ interior themes with Xenon yellow stitching which, of course, can be customized to the last detail.
