The sweet green lawn of the oceanfront Ritz Carlton resort was decorated this past weekend with a huge number of vintage, exotic, luxury and classic cars for the 2016 Amelia Island Festival of Speed and Amelia Island Concours. This was the first of this year’s concours, and certainly one of the finest.
If we cut right to the chase, the highlights of 2016 Amelia Island Concours included a good number of classics – gems such as multi-million dollar original Ferrari California and a couple of vintage Ferrari race car, as well as early Cadillac, Rolls-Royce and MG models, not to mention European and American classic from the sixties and the seventies.
Special mention needs to be made of Cadillac, who had a prominent presence at this year’s Amelia Island Concours not just with classic and production models, but also the unique Sixteen concept car with a V16 engine. Too bad this car never saw the light of day as a production model. Also on display was a version of the new Ford GT in yellow with black racing stripes.
