If the normal Corvette Stingray C7 is a bit too boring for you and the Z06 too spicy, this year Chevrolet has a new model out that slots neatly between the two. It’s the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport and it will go on sale this summer priced at $66,445 for coupe models and $70,445 for convertible.
Inspired by the race-winning Corvette Grand Sport of the Sixties, the 2017 variation comes with a unique, retro-cool design featuring bespoke front fender inserts and Z06-style grille, as well as wider fenders and rear quarter panels to accommodate a wider track. There’s also special colors both for the body and the stripe package, and that’s even before we get to the Collector’s edition which will launch later on with even more exclusive features.
2017 Corvette Grand Sport also boasts performance enhancements over the standard versions of the sports car. It comes with an aero kit, enhanced cooling package, electronic limited-slip differential and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and if you for the Z07 performance pack carbon ceramic-matrix brake rotors and PS Cup 2 tires. Performance-wise, the new Corvette’s 0-60 mph time is estimated at 3.6 seconds with a quarter-mile time of 11.8 seconds at 118 mph.
