Showcasing their capability in keeping up with Ford’s SVR division, Chrysler’s Mopar have come up with a limited edition Ram truck equipped with a selection of performance parts and accessories from their catalog. It’s called Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel and it’s limited to 500 units.
Based on the Ram 1500 4×4 Rebel Crew Cab, the new Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel features some pretty tasty upgrades, beginning with two exclusive paint jobs: Flame Red/Brilliant Black two-tone or Brilliant Black monotone.
The truck is also garnished with aluminum, dual bezel sport performance hood, matte black graphics and stripe accents, off-road wheel arches, front skid plate in billet silver, 17 inch wheels in black, glove box badge and stainless-steel door sill guards with the front sill guards embossed with the Ram logo.
Priced from $52,460, Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel comes as standard with a 5.7-liter HEMI engine paired with an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, transfer case and front suspension skid plates, black tubular side steps, spray-on bedliner and a tri-fold tonneau cover. But there are Mopar upgrades for the powertrain as well if you’re interested, including a cold air intake and cat-back exhaust.
Have these upgrades make the Ram Rebel cool enough to drive away customers away from the mighty F-150? More to the point, are they good enough to justify the 52 grand price tag?
