You would think that after all these years and all those talks Alpine would be ready to show us the final production version of their long-promised new sports car at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. But no, they’re only bringing the concept everybody has already seen a thousand times. But they are also promising the real deal is a-coming.
The new Alpine Sports Car will be previewed amid the festivities at Goodwood estate by the two familiar concept, Alpine Vision and Alpine Celebration. The lineup of cars they have dispatched to the show this year also includes the legendary A110 which is what started this whole revival thing, Alpine A442 B Le Mans racer, Alpine A460 LMP2 racer, Willys Interlagos A108, and a rare A110 cabriolet and the 1977 Meyrignac concept car.
Most of this lot will be competing for glory at Goodwood hill climb, but those destined to be an eye candy will find a prominent place at at the Cartier Style & Luxe display on the lawns. So this will provide a good opportunity for the visitors to inspect the design of the new concept, and since Michael van der Sande (CEO, Alpine) and Antony Villain (Alpine Design Director) are both going to be present at the event, they voice their disagreement with any part of it they think is not very good.
