We haven’t been exactly kind to the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 concept for reasons we have discussed at length before. Now though we have come across this rendering of a Maybach Vision 6 Cabrio, and the whole thing started to make some sense all of a sudden. The 6 works only as a cabriolet!

You see, as a coupe the Vision 6 is a fairly ridiculous concept with its six-meter length and long bonnet and barge-like countenance. But when you lose the roof the car turns into what we suspect the designers had intended for it to be, which was a retro-looking super deluxe saloon with a modern twist. If anything, Maybach Vision 6 Cabrio has looks more of a barge than a coupe – in fact it looks like a Viking ship – but we think without the roof it just works.

The designer has also changed the color of Maybach Vision 6 Cabrio from red to green which is more in keeping with what’s underneath the skin of the car. What’s in there is four independent electric motor and a shallow underfloor battery pack which, when combined, are good for 750 horsepower, a range of 500 km, and a top speed of 250 km/h. Now, Mercedes-Benz has not announced any plans for putting the Vision 6 into production, but should they do it there is a good chance the convertible could actually be on the cards.
