Abarth 124 Speedster 600x343 at Do Want: Abarth 124 Speedster

Inspired by the debut of the MX-5 Speedster Evo at the SEMA Show, designer X-Tomi did in a new rendering what FCA should have done in real life. He penned the Abarth 124 Speedster, implementing the concept MX-5’s idea on its Fiat cousin, with startling results.

The Speedster treatment looked good on the Mazda, but it is absolutely amazing on the Fiat 124 Abarth. The more aggressive design of the roadster which has just the right amount of vintage in it makes a perfect Abarth 124 Speedster. Of course, the black paint job with the charcoal wheel and the red accents help a lot here, but on the whole this Speedster looks like it can eat Mazda’s version for breakfast.

Neither this Abarth 124 Speedster nor that Mazda MX-5 Speedster are slated for production, but we would like some tuners out there picking up the gauntlet and make a speedster version of the either car. Having said that, we would probably prefer it if they didn’t do completely away with the windscreen and kept a small one in place. Then we may even consider buying one. Nobody’s going to call this one a hairdresser’s car!
