It’s amazing that with everything McLaren Automotive has going on at the moment plotting new concepts and testing new models, not to mention juggling many different racing series, that they still find time to make the owners of McLaren 12C and 650S models feel good about their cars. They have just launched a series of MSO accessories for old and current Super Series model to give it a fresh look and feel.
If we cut to the chase, the MSO goodies now available for all McLaren 12C and 650S models include new carbon fiber rear diffuser with enhanced aero properties, carbon mirror caps complete with carbon arms, carbon louvers on the front wings inspired by 1970 Can-Am winning McLaren M8D to save 0.5 kilograms over the standard equivalent and a carbon bonnet lifted straight from the modern Can-Am limited edition.
As for the interior McLaren 12C and 650S get upgrades such as MSO Defined carbon fiber air vent bezels and sill tops, carbon leather and Alcantara steering wheel and extended carbon paddle shifts which would appeal to the track enthusiasts. Will these be enough to stop 650 and 12C owners from wanting a 675LT or a MSO HS? Probably not. But at least they will enable McLaren to divert the money that would otherwise go to the tuner into their own bank account.
