As if the Americans needed more distraction behind the wheel, what with their Big Macs and large drinks and legal weed, Chevrolet announced an unlimited prepaid data plan for only $20 per month for the OnStar 4G LTE system. This gives the occupants of Chevys with WiFi hotspot access to unlimited high-speed internet on the move. 

This is awesome for the passengers, but the driver must exercise great self-restraint not to stream Netflix on his phone as he travels those long and boring Interstates. Chevrolet came up with this OnStar 4G LTE Unlimited plan after they looked at the data usage through the OnStar system and realized last year alone customers used nearly 200 percent more OnStar 4G LTE data in their vehicles compared to 2015. They crunched the numbers, and calculated that data usage was the equivalent of more than 17.5 million hours of video streaming in 2016!
