For every new model that launches into the market, independent designers in the virtual world come up with countless different editions and variants, and if we’re honest most of them are rubbish. This 2015 Ford Mondeo ST, however, might be onto something. It looks fantastic, and it makes a lot of sense.
Now, the new Ford Mondeo (Fusion in America) is not exactly hot news. This car was launched in the States nearly two years ago. But it is only know reaching the British market where the Mondeo enjoys a very good reputation as an affordable executive sedan loved by everybody; from the insurance salesman who drives it as the company car, to the motoring journalists looking for a fun drive.
Almost all of the previous generations of the Mondeo came with at least with one high-performance variant, and it will probably be the case with the new one as well. Designer X-Tomi decided to go ahead and render a high-performance Mondeo by giving the ST treatment modeled on the Focus ST hot hatch.
The end result looks absolutely beautiful and fantastically sporty. This is one rendering the car maker should turn into reality. Now if we were in charge of this project at Ford, we would put the 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine from the new Mustang in this car. But if they find that a bit too over the top, a less hot 2.0 liter would do just fine.
