One of the most striking – and as it turned out, pointless – concept cars at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show was the Lexus LF-C2. This golden Lexus showed us what a convertible RC would look like if they were to make it, which they are not.
The Japanese car maker has reportedly confirmed that Lexus LF-C2 was nothing but a show car and they have no immediate plan to launch an RC convertible. Instead, they are focusing their resources on a new three-row crossover.
Still, the C2 looks interesting enough to warrant a second, deeper glance:
The golden paint job on Lexus LF-C2 is a special, multi-layered treatment with one coat of primer, followed by a layer of silver, a clear coat, and then multiple coats of yellow. This color accents off the massive spindle grille and custom bumpers of the C2, while a largely white upholstery makes the RC cabin on this car look a bit different and somewhat new.
